Position Specifics: Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills. Expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required. Ability to work independently and prioritize diverse tasks. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Must have experience in internal controls over financial reporting, US Government accounting.
Responsibilities: The position reports directly to the Segment Cash Management & Compliance Manager. Responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles in the United States (US GAAP) to record and analyze financial information contained in the segment's financial statements; and, support the segment's compliance programs.
Daily reporting of bank activity and reconciled cash position to segment management
Assist in the preparation of periodic cash forecasts; reconcile and analyze the report variances
Liaise with Financial Planning Manager and Analyst in the reconciliation of periodic cash forecasts to Executive Financial Reports and Annual Operating Plan; analyze the report variances
Input all cash transactions for the segment
Analyze bank fees
Evaluate accounting changes, perform assessments of current and proposed charging practices to ensure compliance with the segment's disclosure statement, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
Assist in and prepare for periodic governmental (DCAA, DCMA) audits and reviews
Perform periodic Incurred Cost Submission detail testing throughout the year
Projects as directed by Segment Cash Management & Compliance Manager
Performs economic research and studies subjects such as rates of return, depreciation, working capital, investments, and financial and expense comparisons by analysis of profit and loss statements and income statements. Prepares reports of findings and recommendations to management. Develops, maintains, and establishes operational specifications for financial information systems considering such things as information flow, volume, and document format for data processing equipment. May provide analysis on business development and may monitor business performance by unit or division.
