External Job Description:
The manager shall ensure conformance to specification requirements through dynamic, thermal and static structural analyses. Provide direct field support to resolve construction problems relating to ship’s structure, mechanical systems, penetrations, and equipment foundations. Lead development of finite element models and calculation spread sheets. Duties will also include development of engineering specifications and development of reports. Manager will select, train, assign, review and appraise subordinates; recommend hire, termination, and other personnel actions; understand and implement company policy, practices, procedures, and objectives, and enforce discipline and promote morale through personal motivation and example.
Supports and reports directly to Manager 3 – Naval Architecture.
Candidate must possess technical knowledge of and provide guidance for analysis, research and development of structural applications of metallic, non-metallic or composite materials related to product design or fabrication of product for marine structures, mechanical systems and equipment foundations and supports. Requires a broad multi-discipline engineering background and must be capable of managing the efforts of a disparate group of engineering technical specialties, inclusive of: structural design, finite element analysis and shock design. Superior demonstrated communication experience (oral and written) is required, and the ability to interpret specification and regulatory body rules.
