To qualify for this position, candidate must have:

  • Prior naval experience

  • Interim Secret security clearance to start.

-Experience on multiple platforms with a basic familiarity with the principles and practice of system configuration management

  • Basic understanding of MS Windows 7 (or higher), MS Server 2008 (or higher)

  • LINUX and UNIX experience

  • Establish processes and modifying systems to meet required security requirements.

  • Ability to solve problems quickly

This position will support our systems administration team located in the Hampton, VA office.

The primary responsibility for this position is to support block 3 and 4 Pre-commissioning units (PCUs),

Secondary duties are to assist, as required, the on-site system administration team, Network security team.

Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

Preferred: -Bachelor degree IT, Networking or Systems security
