External Job Description:

Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints. Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems. Coordinates integrated testing activities. Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program. Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.

Plan and execute test programs that operationally verify NNS work performed on Los Angeles and Sea Wolf class submarines. This position has the potential for 25 – 50% off-site work, although a significant amount of work is performed locally at the Navy Base or Norfolk Naval Shipyard. While deployed, test engineering work is mostly performed in a shipboard environment and requires extensive interface with NNS/LMA/SF production and work control teams. This position also requires analyzing work descriptions to determine certification requirements, analyzing test data to certify test results and writing/answering technical correspondence to resolve discrepancies. This position requires excellent communication and project management skills.
