External Job Description:

Candidate shall have in-depth knowledge of CVN deck machinery systems; particular concentration in Nimitz Class and Ford Class aircraft elevators is desired. Candidate shall have extensive experience in machine design and be adept at performing stress analyses using both classical and computer aided finite element techniques. Candidate shall have knowledge of machinery component requirements, including military specifications and standards, and NAVSEA Tech Pub requirements, including Tech Pub 278. Candidate shall have experience with shock, vibration and EMI qualification methods and testing. Vibration experience shall include familiarity with the testing and design requirements of MIL-STD-167. Shock experience shall include familiarity with the testing requirements of MIL-S-901D and qualification of components by analysis. Candidate shall have experience in working collaboratively with suppliers and customers in a leadership role and will be expected to interface frequently with vendors, SOS, NAVSEA and upper levels of management at NNS. Candidate will be required to lead a cross-functional team composed of different disciplines across the value stream.
