External Job Description:
Candidate must have the following:
-Electrical engineering background, with experience in the power and lighting design for the marine industry
-Experience with AutoCAD and be proficient using entire Microsoft Office Suite
-Able to obtain and maintain a Confidential Security clearance
This position will require travel up to 25% of the time to perform ship checks and surveys.
The Engineer 3 will be responsible for Engineering and CAD services, developing and reviewing electrical and power requirements, schematics, and arrangement drawings. Investigate and prepare Marine Electrical Load Analysis, Fault Current Analysis, and write purchase specifications for electrical system components. He/She will work independently with minimal senior engineer support, perform ship checks on a variety of ship classes, explain system characteristics, and provide technical guidance to Designers. The Engineer will also investigate and prepare technical reports. Candidates must have good communication skills to convey instructions/guidance.
Performs engineering functions in one or more of the following specialties: electronics, electrical, mechanical, civil, naval, and/or chemical.
Office, industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift.
