Position Specifics: Must be able to obtain and maintain a RAPIDGate. Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security experience. Must have practical robotics programming using ROS (Robot Operating System) or Ubuntu OS. Candidate must have experience with software development processes and requirements development.

Responsibilities include the following:

•Design, develop, test, remote docking system for Underwater Automated Vehicle (UAV).

•Manage interfaces between UAV, docking guidance system and dock.

•Develop software code associated with robotic controls and interfaces using ROS environment.

•Write interface documents (ICD/IDD), test and debug code.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and support ability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidate should have professional experience in robotic software design, development and interfaces and/or control systems. Preferred candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college. Electrical power distribution and storage experience a plus. VME experience a plus. Familiar with battery systems and charging applications preferred.
