External Job Description:
Seeking experienced data analyst to support health, welfare, financial, pension and savings benefit plan design, compliance and administration. This position will serve as a key technical resource and team member in the design, monitoring, and evaluation of corporate employee well-being programs; in particular related to population health and employee physical and financial well-being. The successful candidate will conduct complex research, and assist in the development and execution of robust analytics to monitor plan and vendor cost, schedule, utilization and quality performance, identify trends and patterns, and provide evidence to support internal and external audits and data-driven decisions. The successful candidate will apply analytics, statistics and benefit plan knowledge to assist in the research and resolution of various problems, including manipulating complex data sets; developing appropriate data models; applying data cleaning and data quality techniques; identifying trends and patterns in data; and synthesizing findings into reports and briefings to assist executive decision-making.

The successful candidate should have a BA or BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance/Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Operations Research, and 6 or more years of experience in data analysis, preferably as it relates to healthcare and/or health, welfare, financial, pension and savings benefits using large data sources.
Should have experience with manipulating complex data sources and file types and the application of data cleaning and quality techniques. Should have experience with data modeling, actuarial and/or statistical analysis, and the identification of trends and patterns in data.
Should have strong logic, reasoning, critical-thinking and time management skills. Candidate should have strong verbal, written communications and presentation skills, as well as the ability to work independently and within teams. Should have experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Access and PowerPoint, as well as other database tools for data manipulation, aggregation and validation. Should also have excellent organizational skills.
Prior experience with Truven (IBM Watson) technology or similar data warehouse technology is preferred. A MA or MS degree in Mathematics, Statistics or other relevant discipline is desired, as is CEBS, CBP, PHR or SPHR certification.
