The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Confidential level security clearance.
Candidate must have the following experience to qualify for this position:
• Strong knowledge and experience of Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier Weapons Elevators.
• Prior experience working with multiple Weapon Elevator Teams in the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs of Weapons Elevators, as well as manage the installation of SCD(s) (Ship Change Document)) for Weapons Elevators.
• Prior experience performing SOT Level 3(System Operability Test Level 3) on Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier (CVN) Weapons Elevators.
• Prior experience performing ship checks and assessments on Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier (CVN) Weapons Elevators.
Supervises others and manages one or more multiple jobs. Applies comprehensive understanding of production and processes toward completion of assignments. Responsible for interfacing with customers, managing subcontractors and ability to provide work direction to others. Performs a variety of complicated and non-routine tasks. Develops and uses technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports. Schedules, reports and briefs customers and senior management. Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment. Required to hold Daily Safety Briefs on the ship for the work areas that your teams are assigned, and well as hold safety briefs for Ships Force, Newport News Shipbuilding, and the Supervisory of Shipbuilding prior to any major Weapons Elevator evolution, or key event.
Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.

Previous experience coordinating scheduled/ emergent repairs, operations and testing with Ships Force, and Newport News Shipbuilding to support the completion of the RCOH. Ability to estimate man hours and required time to complete schedule and emergent repairs. Will be required to update tracking and scheduling reports and address work status, percentage, and issues at the weekly production meeting. Demonstrated experience addressing issues and concern at in-briefs prior to the installation of SCD(s) (Ship Change Document), and emergent repairs.
